Interview en anglais :

Seules|Nat0

Can you please introduce yourself and your lineup to our readers ?
Ofcourse I can! Hi there, Nathalie "Nat0" Ek, that's me. I am 19 years old and still lives in the same town as I always have, in Degerfors, Sweden. I graduated one year ago and during this year I have put all my energi into the electronic world and Counter-Strike. I applied to school and I actually got in, but I said No tanks, because I wanted to see how far I could make it in Esport. At first, my parents hated that their daughter didn't got herself an education and then a job, but today they're on my side and supports me all the way.

What brought you in the universe of electronic sport and especially to play CS ? What did you like in it ?
It all started when I was very little, with a NES - Nintendo 8bit. I fell in love with i the same second I laid my hands on it! And I guess it's been on that road ever since :) Soon I got my first computer and after a few year I found out about Counter-Strike thanks to one of my ex-boyfriends. I really wanted to beat him when we played so I started to play behind his back :P After alot of playing I finally got better and better.

How long have you been playing it ?
I've been playing since 1.5, dont know how many year that is... 4 years mabye? The first 2 years I was just playing for half an hour when I got home from school, just to relax, but one day when I was playing public, a girl found me and asked me to play with them... I had no idea what I said yes to, but I definetly don't regreat me saying "yes" today ;)

Can you give some details about your training and its rythm ? How many hours a day ? Personnal one and with team?
Les Seules trains about 4hours a day togehter as a team, going through tactics and stuff like that. Individualy some people play way much more than others, but that doesn't have with lack of interest to do, but with that some people are working all day long, while others just doestn't do anything at all and therefor have time to play alot. The individual trainging is everything from CSDM and aimmaps to playing CB and mixes. When Les Seules are having a bootcamp, we try to follow a scheduale which most of the times looks like:

12.00-14.00 - Individual training.
14.00-15.00 - Talk about our gameplay and what we can improve on.
15.00-17.00 - Individual training.
17.00-19.00 - Time to make dinner and eat.
19.00-00.00 - PCWs

Before national qualifications did you think you would be able to qualify for the global finals ?
Yes I did. Everybody expected us to be the team that got the spot to the finals in Paris, and I know that the teams in Sweden have lost some good players and therefor I didn't see them as a bigger threat. Althogh I did expect more of a fight against some of the team, but unfortunally it didn't happen.

What does ESWC mean to you ? And to represent your country ?
What ESWC means for me, it's HUGE! This is what every team dreams about, female or male. This was my goal when I started to play CS, I told my old teammates that being in the top and play in these kind of final was my dream. And here I am, with a team that I know can win it all, if we just focus on the right things and wants it bad enough!

What are you specifically expecting for this event ?
To win ofcourse and put this female-thing behind me. I really don't wanna see this huge devide in this scene. There shouldn't be a "male" vs "female" scene. It was pretty funny, I read a comment to a news about us going to ESWC and it said "Les Seules are too good for the female scene, but they dont belong in the male scene!"... Where do you want us to go then? If there
is a female tournament with money that we can win, it would be foolish of us to NOT participate in it, we are still participating in the open tournaments too.

As you don't known you future opponents yet, are there some of them whom you are worried about playing against?
I'm not worried, not like scared of loosing against another team, I just think is gonna be really fun. You shouldn't underestimate any team that is going there, but on the other hand you should never overestimate a team either. I do think that it's going to be interesting and funny to play against the teams from Asia, since those are the only teams we actually cant pracc against because of the ping-problems and so on.

Are you going to have a special preparation for the event ?
Actually, I think we are the only team that ain't bootcamping before the finals in Paris. We had a short bootcamp before the qualifiers, but after we won that, people went home to their own homecountries and we gave us some time to relax. That's how we are preparing for the final :P Sure, we are playing 2-3 hours in the evenings, but not more.

We heard a lot of rumours about PLAYUS, can you tell us when it will begin? and some news about it?
Hehe these romours ;) I cant say much about it more than it starts very soon. You, as a viewer will see Les Seules in something that reminds you of "behind the scenes" and stuff like that. You will follow us and see how we handle the stressfull situations and how we solve problems together, all what a realityshow contains!

Any last shoutouts ?
Thank you for your time and a big thank you to Sennheiser Communicaions and Bringiton. Also a huge hug for my lovely ladies! Check out www.seules.net for BIG NEWS SOOOOON!!!!!

It is the only really big event for girls, so of cause it means alot, but i dont think i see it that much as representing my country, because we are 3 danish 2 swedish girls

What are you specifically expecting for this event ?
Great weather perhaps :), alot of fun and some exiting matches

As you don't known you future opponents yet, are there some of them whom you are worried about playing against

Burntpionk|Lydi & Burntpink|Jess

Can you please introduce yourself and your teammates to our readers ?
Hello! We are known as Burntpink and we are representing the United States of America at ESWC. My name is Lidia "lidy" Poulin. I'm 20 years old and I'm from Quebec city, Canada. My name is Jessica "jess" Meier. I'm 17 years old and I live near San Francisco in California. Our teammates are Megan "Belle" Ceder who is 19 years old from Austin, Texas; Edna "mz" Chan, 24 from Toronto, Canada; and Michelle "KR" Chong, who is 21 years old and from Los Angeles, California.

What brought you in the universe of electronic sport and especially to play Counter Strike ? What did you like in it ?
Both of us saw our brothers playing these video games. We both became interested and started playing them ourselves and sooner or later found ourselves stuck in the universe of electronic sports because we enjoy the competitive scene of the game.

How long have you been playing it ?
Lidy: I have been playing it for the past 3 years and a half.
Jess: I have been playing it for 6 years.

Before u got invited, did u expected to get invite?
We honestly expected to be invited because Burntpink is a well known long standing female clan that has been already invited two other times. However, we didn't not expect such a nice seeding for ESWC and we are very excited. We are looking forward to playing the other female teams and having a good time in Paris.

Can you give some details about your training and its rythm ? How many hours a day ?
At the moment, we are bootcamping at Cyberzone in Pennsylvania (www.czgaming.com). We are preparing by scrimming other teams on lan, learning from our mistakes in scrimmages and watching demos to strenghten our strategies. We play about 10 hours a day. Even on the day we arrived from our airport at 9 pm, we directly went to lan center and started practicing until 4 in the morning!

How ur bootcamp is doing atm? Do you feel a lots of progress?
Our bootcamp is doing very well right now. We think that we are making a lot of progress in becoming a much better team. Our teamwork builds through our friendship when we are all hanging out together. :D

Are you going to have a special preparation for the event ?
We had the chance to participate in the Intel5k tournament at Interpeer in New Jersey yesterday. It was a good preparation to play high level teams on lan on all the maps we would have to play at ESWC. A lot of people were suprised at how well we did at the tournament. We lost in upper bracket finals to a cal-i team, Confederacy; however, we got a chance to play them again in the grand final after beating Runaway in lower bracket finals. We are very proud of our performance in getting 2nd place and earning 200$.

What does ESWC mean to you ? And to represent your country ?
ESWC means a lot to us because it is a really good opportunity for us to prove our abilities internationally. We have great pride in what Burntpink stands for and it is time to show everyone exactly what that is. It is a privilege to represent the United States at the olympics of the esport world. This occasion is not one that we take for granted and we play proudly as a team through thick and thin.

What are you specifically expecting for this event ?
Since we received such a good seeding, we expect to do very well at this event. We feel confident in playing any of the top seeds and accept the challenges that come with them. At the same time, we expect any female teams we play to be difficult for us because of the good competition at ESWC. Hopefully, we will make it to top 5.

As you don't known you future opponents yet, are there some of them whom you are worried about playing against.
We were happy to notice that China was in the same seeding group as us. We are ready to play anyone that will be in our group.

Any last shoutouts ?
We would like to thank all of our supporters in #burntpink and donaters that got us here. Cyberzone for letting us bootcamp at the wonderful lan center. Our many friends that have helped us learn our ingame mistakes and taught us to be better players. And most importantly our gorgeous and talented teammates Michelle, Edna and Megan <3. Stevenson, Stromberg, MehLer, Wang1H, Carrot, DChin, Deppy, Sasquatch <3 Thank you for this interview and good luck to all the girl teams that are participating at ESWC.

Fainted|Xenia

Can you please introduce yourself and your teammates to our readers ?
My name is Irene Strand , 20 years old from Bodø, Norway.
My teammates in Team Fainted are:
Elin Dolmen , 21 years old from Sauda, Norway. She is our Team Kaptein.
Hege Botnen , 19 years old from Trondheim, Norway.
Kine Viktoria Jørgensen <^Kine^>, 18 years old from Bergen, Norway.
Jennifer Holmström , 20 years old from Stockholm, Sweden.

What brought you in the universe of electronic sport and especially to play Counter-Strike ? What did you like in it ?
I started too play Counter Strike because of my best friend, he wanted too show me this game! Just so he can laugh about how bad I was. But in stead, I was the one beating his but! =) It was not really so fun at first.. I just played for fun sometimes. But in the end it started to get fun, when we was gathering together to play! And that was it, I was hooked!

How long have you been playing it ?
I have been playing for over 5 years.

Can you give some details about your training and its rythm ? How many hours a day ?
At first I was playing ALOT, many many hours a day. Then we have school and job cutting in. But when we practise, we practise hard. Around 4-5 hours 4-5 days a week. And sometimes we have to drop the weekend for a cup or something =)

Before u got invited, did u expected to get invite?
I have always ment we have potential, so I wasnt totally suprised when we got in. I wouldnt have been playing for this long for nothing! So I think we will represent a good team!

What does ESWC mean to you ? And to represent your country ?
It means allot, we got a huge pressure on us, representing our team and our country. So we better do a good job.
I think this is very importent for us and for me, too show what we are good for! So we can show Norway, that girls can play too!

What are you specifically expecting for this event ?
We expekt that it will be a hell of good turnament, and have a great loud of fun. We aim for a top 8, but are hoping for a striking good first place! :D

As you don't known you future opponents yet, are there some of them whom you are worried about playing against
Alternate Attax Women - German, Hacker Victory - China. We know little about the teams and their skill level. And German and China are known too be good players.
We will take things as they come. And play our best. =)

Are you going to have a special preparation for the event ?
As you ask in the next question, we have had 2 bootcamps and allot of online praccing. Too be ready for the event.

Do you think the 2 bootcamps you had at gamers-paradise helped you a lot ?
The first bootcamp we had a step in with us, so that wasnt really as helpfull as next one... Since we didnt have our Team Captein with us. Our beloved imp_ <3, But the last bootcamp really helped us out, we pracced hard for 3 days in a row. And are relly ready too kick some ass at ESWC.

Any last shoutouts ?
A great thanks too Expekt.com for all the support they have given us!
And all fans out there chearing for us! <3
Team Fainted FTW!

bGirl|Aracely

Can you please introduce yourself and your teammates to our readers ?
Well,my name is Elizabet,I'm the captain of the Bulgarian team Man1a.bGirLs.
i'm 16 years old.My teammates are - Nevena (25),Ivelina (23) ,Petia (22) and Adelina (18).
We all live in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria.
Adelina and I are still @ school.Petia,Nevena and Ivelina work.

What brought you in the universe of electronic sport and especially to play Counter-Strike ? What did you like in it ?
I went to one inet cafe when i was 13.There I saw one of my teammates (Adelina),she was playing counter-strike.
It was a little bit strange for me because i was thinking that the games are for guys.
I began to go to this inet cafe more often. There I began to play

How long have you been playing it ?
3 years :D

Can you give some details about your training and its rythm ? How many hours a day ?
Well,as i mentioned Ivelina,Nevena and Petia work so it's a little bit hard to harmonize with us,but everyone finds some free time.
So we have pracctice every day except friday and saturday - 4 hours a day ;D

Before national qualifications did you think you would be able to qualify for the global finals ?
Yes,certainly. We knew it because we don't have competition here in Bulgaria ;)

What does ESWC mean to you ? And to represent your country ?
ESWC is the biggest event of the year, especially for women.
It's the place where we can show our skills,so we go there to do our BEST and win for BULGARIA :D

What are you specifically expecting for this event ?
We hope to finish 1-4 place ;D

Does the seed are fine for you?
we are wondering why there is no Medium-seed Pool for women, but yes it's fine.

As you don't known you future opponents yet, are there some of them whom you are worried about playing against
We are not afraid of anyone. We have to meet some of the best female teams anyway,so we are ready:)

Are you going to have a special preparation for the event ?
We are already preparing for it as i said :D

Any last shoutouts ?
ESWC,here we come :D Love my girls !

g0d|Missy

Can you please introduce yourself and your teammates to our readers ?
Hi my name is Jamie (Missy), I come from California but right now I'm living in Sweden. I'm 20 years old and I had been studying environmental science for 2 years but now I am taking a break, but I will continue later.
On my team there is trito (Therese), she is from the north part of Sweden and she is also a quake dueler, she is 27 years old.
Ms. X (Alana) is has two citizenships, Canadian and British, but she grew up in Canada. She started the team girlz 0f destruction with me, so we have known each other for a long time. She is also a Quake 3/4 player. She is 25 years old.
Liefje (Livia) comes from New Zealand, and she is mainly an unreal tournament player, she is 19 years old. She will be the coach for our CS team.
Hbee (Dina) is from England and she is an experienced CS player, I'm so thankful to have her because she teaches us a lot. She is 25 years old.
Jaffy (Anne) is also from England and she's another very experienced CS player, she has so much patience working with us, I'm so grateful! She is 21 years old.

What brought you in the universe of electronic sport and especially to play Quake4 then Counter-strike ? What did you like in it ?
I started to play e-sports competitively with Quake3, I have played it since the demo came out,
and now I am playing Quake4. I have to confess I am more of a duel player than a team player,
but I really enjoy CounterStrike for it's team aspect.
Once I learned about the competitive scenes, I started to follow them and try new games,
like CS, but I will always stick to my core : Quake.

How long have you been playing Counter-Strike ?
In the competitive sense, I have only played counterstrike for a few months, but just for fun, I have been playing it for years.

Can you give some details about your training and its rythm ? How many hours a day ?
It's very difficult to balance two games at once, I would say that I train 5 hours a day on average (both games),
however now that ESWC is one week away, we will be playing nonstop all day with our whole team here, ( but I still have to squeeze in Quake4 as well!)

I heard that most of you were living in the same house : "home of chrome", do you think that is an advantage?
Yes that's correct, my team and I live in the same house together in Sweden even though we aren't all from here (me from california..!) I do feel like that's an advantage for team games, but the whole purpose of the house if for me to improve, so I feel like it helps my duel skills as well.

Before getting invited did you think you would get invite for the global finals ?
I knew that we had a pretty good chance of being chosen for the autoberth... I wrote up the application and I jam-packed it with all of our achievements, which was a long list. It showed how much LAN experience we've had and I think that's also really important. Some top players don't perform up to par when under pressure or their LAN skills are inconsistent.

What does ESWC mean to you ? And to represent your country ?
ESWC is known has one of the best events out there, and I am extremely excited to go.
I am not representing my own country so it does not have the same meaning to me as the UK girls,
but I'm just happy to be going, even if I'm American but wearing the UK flag!
I've always wanted to go to France so badly, and test my french too, it's one of my dreams. (AND I will be there on my birthday).

What are you specifically expecting for this event ?
I'm expecting this to be a great event... I don't have really high expectations for our placement in the tournament,
but I want us to get 2nd or 3rd in our group stages! That would be awesome!
Aside from that, it will be an amazing event to spectate at with all the Quake matches...!
I'm expecting some grudge matches to go down between toxic and cooller, but I'm curious to see how the americans do against the players from the other side of the Atlantic. : )

As you don't known you future opponents yet, are there some of them whom you are worried about playing against
9/I know which teams to watch out for.. so I'm praying not to get them all in my group, like Girlz Got Game and Les Seules!

Are you going to have a special preparation for the event ?
Yes, this week our players from the UK have flown here to Stockholm so that we can bootcamp together on LAN, and then we will all fly to Paris together : )

Any last shoutouts ?

I'd like to thank all the French people I've been in contact with who are helping me out, HuReeKo, maLou, appleseed merci!
