Annonce officielle :

The 2006 European Nations Championship's second game is non other than the world's most successfull real time strategy game outside of Korea.

Without further ado, the second game of the European Nations Championship 2006 is:

Warcraft III

Just like Counter-Strike, Warcraft III has been a part of the European Nations Championship from the very start in 2004.

So far no nation has been able to touch Sweden's prowess in Warcraft III. The Swedish national team has won the ENC in 2004 and repeated its strong showing in 2005 with another first place. Runner-ups in 2004 were France and Denmark as compared to France and Germany in 2005.

With the rapid evolution of professional rts gaming in the last years, there has been a high volatility among player ranks. Especially Sweden and France have lost players to inactivity and other games. Looking at the Swedish winning team of 2005, they have lost MaDFroG and Ziebed to inactivity, leaving just SaSe and ElakeDuck to carry the team. The French team isn't really better off. From the 2005 team only ToD is left at the same or an above level of skill. FaTC and ChobO are largely inactive and Wolf's chances of winning anything seem pretty random. Other contenders for the title have emerged though - there are the Netherlands, which in 2005 dropped out of the ENC due to scheduling problems and there is also Germany, which managed to retain a lot of its top gamers from 2005 and last but not least there is of course Russia, one of the strongest Warcraft nations in Europe at the moment.

The winners of the European Nations Championship in Warcraft III will receive a total prize money of € 12,500.

The third and last game for the European Nations Championship 2006 will be released tomorrow. Don't miss the news!
