Meeting with 3 famous quakers.
The idea was to have point of view from 3 famous quakers but also three different ones. You have a very top player, a very old school one (since 1998 he told me) and someone who have a journalistic point of view. The way was also to ask questions to one about one other of this "wonderful three".

Esportsfrance: In order to introduce you about French people who aren't aware about Quake, can you introduce yourself shortly?
trito: My name is Therese Anderson and my name in games is trito. I play Quake 3 and Quake 4.
fox: My name is Magnus Olsson. I play Quake 3 mostly in 1on1 and TDM for ICE cLIMBERS.
PURRI: My name is Mikael Tarvaien, also know as PURRI. I play at the moment Quake 2 but here in DreamHack, I also play Quake 3.
Can you make a point about your team and/or sponsorships?
PURRI: I haven't any sponsors at the moment.ProGam3r magazine was my sponsor when I played Quake 4 but it is no longer a professional game anymore. I don't really enjoy play Quake 3 so I play Quake 2 on Internet and Lan.
trito: I'm still in the team called Grilz of Destruction. We were lucky to have via technology as sponsor on the Gaming House. But when the Gaming House shutting down, we have hard times: all of us have to find a sponsor. So we don't have a sponsor like it and thus, we are more like freelancers but we have talks with company such as energy drink in Canada
fox: Since my contract with FPO were finished, I have several discussions but nothing concrete yet. I'm in a between.
You all have ever been in France in order to carry out quake competition. Do you think there is major difference between swedish and french LAN?
trito: I liked Gamers-Assembly, the competition the ambiance and people there but I can't see much differences from both.
fox: I think there is much more girls in DreamHack (laughs).
trito: Yeah, it's something like 15 percent.
PURRI: I haven't been to GA but to ESWC and you can not compare this to the Jönköping festival because DreamHack isn't really a lan but a festival. People come here to have fun. ESWC is a really professional tournament.
Last year Swedish quakers came to ESWC very linked to each other. They were every time cheering each other. Do you think it will be the same this year at San Jose?
PURRI: I liked the ambiance last year but since I'm not going this year I can't be sure but I think it won't be changed
The last question will be the one of frenchfragfactory readers: fojji play very well but Frenchies feel bored to watching playing him; why?
trito: Is he boring to watch? (laughs)
PURRI: I think what do they mean is that maybe fox have a style very calculated. He doesn't take many risks: he plays safe. He plays very effectively so he play with his mental that's the way he like to play and obviously he have doing it for a long time. But everyone have a different style: there are some tactical players, some people love aim players and fox is more a tactical than a aim player.
You wanna add something?
PURRI: last word... anyone? ... (laughs) Thank you for having interviewed us.
Thank you and good luck.

| What do you think about PURRI Quake 2 style of playing? trito: I haven't see him playing a lot but it sounds like he rapes everyone in Quake 2. That's maybe why he is called the God of Quake 2 in France (laughs). What do you think about trito and fojji way of playing in Quake 3? PURRI: well, I played both and fox is a top player in TDM and 1on1: he is very, very good and he play verys similar like I when I play Quake 3. We play the same game even if he does it better. trito is also good because she have played for many years. I saw her playing at the QuakeCon in 2005: I really enjoy see her playing since she is very good. | ![]() |
